THE OLD HOMESTEAD

I spotted this derelict cottage passing by on a main road. I stopped as cars whizzed by. Here was history of old times long gone by. It had character as it still stood in the last stages of decay with its thatched roof about to cave in. What stories it must hold within its falling walls? Who came and went? Where are they now?
Perhaps a distant relative would return to their roots only to find this cottage in total ruins. I painted it as it took its final breath!
